At the field, children play games such as: Kickball, Tee-ball,
Soccer, Red Rover,
Spud, Four Corners, Steal the Bacon, and many more!
Our athletic director and field staff coordinate age-specific instruction and
games for each group at the field, and assist the counselors in
developing games to play during gym and yard time as well. Field sports are an
integral part of the camp experience. Younger grades go to the field
earlier in the day than the older children. Water is always available at the
fields. On high heat index days, we use the yards instead of the fields, so that
the children can go inside the air-conditioned building to cool off.
Karate
One of our most popular activities at camp is karate. We have several Tae Kwon
Do
black belts who instruct the children in organized classes of this
non-contact
martial arts form. Karate is a great activity for kids, but as in every
activity, it is not for everyone. We will encourage your child to participate,
but we will never force him/her to do any activity. Children may be able to
take a belt advancement test during the summer and/or continue studying
during the school year.
Movement
Movement is a very important part of young peoples lives. Creative
movement helps build coordination and flexibility as well as creative expression. This year we
will continue to incorporate dance into the camp program.
